What to expect

You may have noticed our teams starting construction in your neighborhood, which means Cox’s fiber network will be available in the coming months. We want you to know that any work on your property will be restored to as-good or better condition after we finish our work. Here is what to expect during construction:

  • First, we identify where underground infrastructure and facilities like electric, gas, telephone, and cable lines are buried.  We also receive maps from the water utility where water lines are buried.  We use all of this information to help us avoid damaging critical utilities.

  • Second, we deploy optical fiber lines and supporting equipment along the public right of way that will bring our services your homes.

  • Third, upon signing up for Cox Internet/services, our installation technicians will deploy optical fiber lines and customer premise equipment from the street to the home.


Let's get started

As construction teams wrap up their work, you will have the opportunity to connect with a member of the Cox team to discuss options for connectivity in your home or use our online, self-service option. Once you’ve completed the purchase of your internet package and you’ve chosen an installation day and time convenient for you, here’s what you can expect:

  • On the day of your installation, the Cox technician completing the work will call you to let you know they’re on the way.

  • Upon arrival, your technician will review services to be installed and do a walk-through of your home with you to make the best recommendation on where to place the modem.

  • Next, your technician will spend some time outside installing necessary equipment to bring fiber inside the home.

  • Once the modem is up and running, your technician will show you how your new services work and do a final walkthrough to tidy up and provide you with information on how to contact our 24/7 tech support team for any follow up questions or concerns.

Limited to Cox serviceable locations. Referrals and orders must be submitted by calling 855-780-2025 or filling out the Customer Referral form to be eligible for referral rewards. This Refer a Friend promotion (the “Program”) is open only to current residential Cox customers who are not members of another Cox referral program at the time of submitting the referral. Cox Communications employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to be Referring or Referred Customers, and Referring Customers may not refer themselves or their own accounts. All Referring Customers must obtain express permission from Referred Customers for Cox to contact the Referred Customer by email to discuss Cox products and services. Prior to obtaining permission, Referring Customers must disclose to the Referred Customer that the Referring Customer will receive a benefit if the Referred Customers signs up. Referred Customer must be a new or existing Cox residential customer newly adding a Qualifying Service(s). Qualifying Services are Cox TV, Cox Internet, Cox Voice, Cox Mobile and Cox Homelife services. Transferring or moving of existing Cox services not eligible. Upgrades and re-subscription to services cancelled within the prior 30 days are not eligible. All referrals must be submitted prior to Referred Customer ordering services in order to receive the prepaid Mastercard. Referring Customer will receive a one-time $25 prepaid Mastercard for each new Qualifying Service ordered by the Referred Customer, up to a maximum of $125, and Referred Customer will receive a one-time $25 prepaid Mastercard for each new subscription to a Qualifying Service, up to a maximum of $125. Referred Customer’s services must be installed and/or activated within 30 days of the Cox receiving the Referral. Prepaid Mastercard will be mailed 30-60 days from installation date. Each Referring Customer may earn up to a maximum of $600 per year under this Refer a Friend program. All Program participants must maintain a qualifying Cox Communications account in good credit standing (no outstanding balances) for at least 30 days from installation and/or activation of Referred Customer’s Qualifying Services to receive applicable prepaid Mastercard. Referral benefits are only available under one Program for each referral. In the event more than one customer refers the same Referred Customer under any referral program, the first customer making the referral (as determined by Cox) will be deemed the Referring Customer under the appropriate program. About data

All Cox Internet plans include 1.25 TB (1280 GB) per month of data usage. In your area, we don’t currently charge fees for exceeding data plans.
