Sign in to the Contour app. Choose Settings and select Manage Devices. All devices that have downloaded an asset will appear with a red return button next to them.
We've listed answers to some commonly asked questions below to help you get the most out of the Contour app.
Depending on your subscription, you can view over 100 channels out of home. In the side menu, under Live TV, select TV Go Channels to see the channels that are available to watch anywhere in the US, both in and out of your home. Channels not listed are not currently available to watch out-of-home through the Contour app but may be available through that network’s own app using your Cox credentials (e.g., HBO GO, WatchESPN).
Currently, you can only download recorded content from Starz and Showtime and any purchased content from your home set-top box.
From anywhere in the app, click the magnifying glass to initiate a search. You may search for a specific program or network.
When looking at the guide (under Live TV, All Channels), you may click the Find button to search for a specific channel number or network.
Only specific TV channels (TV Go channels) are currently available for out-of-home. If you are not connected to your home Wi-Fi, you will only be able to watch TV Go channels. If you are connected to your home Wi-Fi, you should be able to access all the TV channels that you subscribe to.
If you are at home: Please make sure that you are connected to your home Wi-Fi network. If you still receive the message, try rebooting your Wi-Fi router and uninstalling/reinstalling the Contour app. Please contact Cox Support for additional help if you are still experiencing issues.
At this time, it is not possible to watch your recorded content from your Contour app, except for downloaded content. This is a feature that we hope to launch in the future.
You can set DVR recordings from a separate app, called Cox Connect. Cox Connect can also be used to check your account balance, pay your bill, manage your home phone, listen to voicemail, and find Cox Stores and our public Cable Wi-Fi hotspots.
Due to DRM limitations and restrictions in our contracts with the TV networks, we are unable to support viewing on external devices at this time. However, you may cast to a larger screen from the desktop website, watchtv.cox.com.
We currently do not support any apps for external devices. However, you can use channel specific apps (e.g., WatchESPN, Fox Sports Go, HBO GO, etc.) using your Cox My Account login to watch on these devices.
