Customize Your Homelife System

It’s easy to teach your home new tricks by customizing your Homelife system:

Your House, Your Rules

It's easy to create "Rules" for your Homelife system. There are three types:

  • SCHEDULED EVENTS: Rules that are set to happen on a routine, such as lights turning off at night or scheduling lights to turn on and off at specific times while you're on vacation.
  • DEVICE EVENTS: Triggers action when a device status changes or does not change when expected, such as sending a video clip when a door opens.
  • SYSTEM EVENTS: Rules that are triggered based on system status such as turning on certain lights when the system is in Armed Away mode.

You can set up real-time notifications for Rules to stay connected with what's happening at home while you're away. Notifications can be sent via text message. Notifications, pictures and video clips can be sent via email. You can set up Rules Contacts for anyone who should receive notifications.

Turn on an entryway lamp when you unlock the door to brighten your homecoming.
