Watch and Delete Contour Recordings

Solution

You can access and manage recorded shows using the steps below.

Press the Contour button on the Cox remote.

Result: The Main Menu displays.

Highlight Saved, then press OK.

Result: The For You screen displays.

Highlight Recordings.

Refer to the table below and follow the steps to view or manage recordings.
 

When multiple episodes of a show display, highlight the show title, then press OK to view a list of episodes. From the episode list, customers can choose an episode to watch, see more information about, delete, or recover.

View recent recordings

Recent recordings display when the Recordings screen is accessed.
 

When two recordings display for the same showing of an episode, the recording was likely interrupted by a power failure or similar event. One recording will end at the interruption point, and the second will start when the connection was restored.

Watch a recording
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight a recording, then press OK.
  2. Press OK, with Watch highlighted.
Delete a recording
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight a recording.
  2. Press D.

    Result: A confirmation message displays with Delete Now selected. 
     
  3. Press OK.
Permanently delete a recording
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight Recently Deleted, then press OK.
  2. Use the up and down arrows to highlight the recording, then press OK.
  3. Use the left and right arrows to highlight Delete Now, then press OK.
  4. Press the right arrow to highlight Delete Now, then press OK.

Note: Deleted recordings will stay in the Recently Deleted folder until Permanently Deleted by user or until system Auto Deletes it when hard drive fills up and space is needed.

Recover a deleted recording
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight Recently Deleted, then press OK.
  2. Use the up and down arrows to highlight a recording, then press OK.
  3. Use the left and right arrows to highlight Recover, then press OK.
Delete all episodes of a recorded series 
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight a series.
  2. Use the right arrow button to highlight the circled X.
  3. Press Ok to delete all recorded episodes of that series.
Sort recordings list alphabetically or by most recent
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight Sort, then press OK.
  2. Use the up and down arrows to choose Most Recent or A to Z, then press OK.
Stop an active recording
  1. Use the up and down arrows to highlight the recording, then press OK.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to highlight Record Options, then press OK.
  3. Press the right arrow to highlight Cancel, then press OK.

    Result: A confirmation message displays with Cancel selected.
     
  4. Press OK.

Stopping the recording does not delete what has already been recorded. To delete the recorded portion, follow the instructions to Delete a recording above.
