Troubleshooting WiFi Connection Problems With a Cox Security System


See the table below for solutions to common problems with WiFi Connection Problems.

WiFi Connectivity Failure or Intermittent Connectivity

Range or interference issues may be the cause.

  • Relocate the device and check for signal.
  • Reboot the device and check for signal.

Poor or No Signal Strength

Range or interference issues may be the cause. Relocate the device and check for signal.

No Connectivity to the TouchscreenCheck that the cord for the cable modem is inserted into the router's Internet Port and that the cable modem is connected and powered on.
WiFi SSID / Password change

Complete the following steps to update your SSID/Password on the touchscreen.

  1. From the touchscreen, select the Settings icon.
  2. Tap Advanced Settings.
  3. Tap WI-FI.
  4. Tap the desired network and use the keyboard to enter in the new SSID/Password.
