Troubleshooting Low Audio on the DTA

Solution

The following procedure will walk you through changing the settings on both the DTA and Cox remote control. Completing these steps will force the DTA and remote control to allow your TV to control the volume level of your service.

Verify the volume level on your TV is set to a medium to low level using the remote that came with your TV.

On the Cox remote, press and hold the SETUP button until the POWER button blinks twice.

Press and release the MUTE button.


Result
: The POWER button will blink four times.

Navigate to the Volume Control menu.

  1. Press the Cox Menu button.
  2. Select Settings and press the SELECT button.
  3. Select Audio & Video and press the SELECT button.
  4. Select Volume Control and press the SELECT button.

Select Variable and press the SELECT button.

Press and release the MUTE button one time.

Return to the Volume Control menu using the instructions in Step 4.

Select Fixed and press the SELECT button.

Press and hold the SETUP button until the POWER button blinks twice.

Press and release the VOL + button. 

Result: The POWER button will blink two times. The Cox remote control is now able to adjust the volume on your TV.
