Tips to Secure Your Cox Business Account

Details

We care about your safety online and proactively monitor your account for suspicious activity. The items listed below may flag your account for suspicious behavior.

  • Logins to CoxBusiness.com from unusual IPs or locations
  • Emails sent to your Cox Business Email address that auto-forward to suspicious mailboxes
  • Unknown email addresses or mailboxes displaying in your Cox Business Email inbox
  • Account credentials are found on a list posted online by criminals

If we detect these or other suspicious behaviors, we proactively change your password to protect you against malicious activity. Unfortunately, this also locks you out of your account until you change your password.

Preventing a Compromised Account

Keep your account safe using the following tips.

  • Do not click on links in emails from people you don't know.
  • Update the passwords for each of your Cox Business User IDs to passwords you've never used before.
  • Use unique passwords for each Cox Business User ID.
  • Do not use these User ID and password combinations on other websites.
  • Confirm that your anti-virus software is up to date.
