Switching Phone Numbers Between Microsoft Teams Users and Auto Attendants/Call Queues


Phone numbers for Cloud Voice for Microsoft Teams are configured for Teams users by default. To configure phone numbers for Microsoft Teams Auto Attendant/Call Queue instead, complete the following steps.


In Microsoft Teams Admin Center, confirm the phone number(s) are not currently assigned to a Teams user, Teams Auto Attendant or Teams Call Queue.


Request to switch existing phone numbers to be used for Teams Auto Attendant or Teams Call Queue.


Provide the phone numbers and the requested use for each.

Note: It may take up to one business day for the configuration change to be completed.

Result: Once the configuration change is complete, the phone numbers will be listed in the Teams Admin Center and available to be assigned to a Teams user or Auto Attendant/Call Queue.
