Setting Voice Mail Preferences in MyAccount


To update your preferences on when you will receive voice mail and to select the number of rings prior to voice mail picking up, complete the following steps.

Note: Your voice mail must be set up before you can manage your preferences. See Setting up Voice Mail for more information.


In a web browser, go to myaccount.coxbusiness.com.

  1. Enter your User ID and Password.
  2. Click Sign In.

    Note: If you do not remember your User ID or Password, or experience an issue signing in, then see Trouble Signing in on the Cox Website.

On the MyAccount homepage, click the Voice Mail icon.

Note: You must have the phone number assigned to your MyAccount user in order to complete the following steps. If you do not see the Voice Mail icon, then your Profile Owner or Administrator will need to assign the number to you. See Managing Phone Number Assignments in MyAccount for more details.

From the Voice Mail Tools window, click the Voice Mail Preferences icon.

From the Voice Mail Preferences window, complete the following steps.

  1. Verify that your Voice Mail Status set to On.
  2. Select your Voice Call Preference from the following options.
    • Send busy and unanswered calls to voice mail
    • Send busy calls to voice mail
    • Send unanswered calls to voice mail
  3. In the drop-down menu for Number of Rings Before Greeting, select the number of rings you desire.
  4. Click Save.

Note: The Save button is grayed out until changes are made to your preferences.
