Setting up Notifications in Your Detection Subscriber Portal

A notification is created to notify you and other members of your business of the different system actions that occur with your detection system. There are many different notification types available, full descriptions of each type are provided in Understanding the Notification Types for the Security Solutions System. For an example, the steps are outlined below to create, edit, or delete a Temperature Alert Notification in the subscriber portal.

Creating a Notification

Follow the steps below to create a notification in the Security Solutions subscriber portal.

From your web browser, navigate to Cox Business MyAccount to access Security Solutions.

On the left-hand menu of the subscriber portal, click Notifications.

On the Notifications window, view all of the active and inactive list of notifications. Click +NEW NOTIFICATION.

On the Add a New Notification pop-up window, select the Temperature tab and click the Temperature Alert option.

On the Notification section, complete the following steps to create your temperature alert notification.

  1. Delete the words, Temperature Alert, and enter a new name for the notification rule.

  2. Tap the desired checkbox for When the device detects a temperature above or below a defined temperature threshold, a notification will be sent. Select the corresponding dropdown list to set the desired temperature.

  3. Click +Add Recipient to add additional notification recipients.

  4. On the Address Book pop-up window, select the recipients to receive the alarm notification. To add a new entry, click +NEW and enter the first name, last name, mobile number, and email address for the new contact.

  5. Click CLOSE.

Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings and click SAVE. All steps complete. Notification is created and will send notification or email based on configured settings.

Editing or Deleting a Notification

Follow the steps below to edit or delete a notification in the Security Solutions subscriber portal.

On the Notifications window, view the list of notifications and locate the notification you want to edit and click the Pencil icon.

On the Temperature Alert Notification window, complete your edits and click Save.

To delete a notification, click the Trash icon. On the pop-up confirmation window, click Delete Notification.
