Setting up Notifications in Your Detection Subscriber Portal

Solution

A notification is created to notify you and other members of your business of the different system actions that occur with your detection system. There are many different notification types available, full descriptions of each type are provided in Understanding the Notification Types for the Security Solutions System.

Creating a Notification

Follow the steps below to create a notification in the Security Solutions subscriber portal.

Go to Myaccount.coxbusiness.com, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.
 

Note: If you have not created a MyAccount profile with a User ID and Password, see Setting Up Your MyAccount Profile.

From the Administrative Tools and Service Management section, click the Security icon.

Do you have more than one account?

  • If no, then continue to the next step.
  • If yes, then from the Select an account drop-down menu, select the account to modify.

From the Security page, click the Launch portal button.

On the left-hand menu of the subscriber portal, click Notifications.

From the Notifications page, click +NEW NOTIFICATION.

On the Add a New Notification pop-up window, select the Notification type tab and click the alert option.

From the Notification section, complete the following steps to create your alert notification.

  1. Delete the existing alert name, and enter a new name for the notification rule.
  2. Ensure that the Notification Active is toggled on.
  3. Complete the provided options based on the specific notification type.
  4. Click +Add to add additional notification recipients.

  5. On the Address Book pop-up window, select the recipients to receive the alarm notification. To add a new entry, click +NEW and enter the first name, last name, mobile number, and email address of the new contact.

  6. Click CLOSE.

Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings and click SAVE.
 

Result: Notification is created and will send based on configured settings.

Editing or Deleting a Notification

Follow the steps below to edit or delete notifications in the Security Solutions subscriber portal.

On the Notifications window, view the list of notifications and locate the one you want to edit, and click the Pencil icon.

Complete your edits and click Save.

To delete a notification, click the Trash icon. On the pop-up confirmation window, click Delete Notification.
