Setting up Instant Group Calling

Solution

Use the following steps to enable the Instant Group Call feature.

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.
 

Note: If you have not created an online profile with a User ID and Password, refer to Setting Up Your Online Profile.

From the Services section, click the Voice icon.

Do you have more than one account?

  • If no, then continue to the next step.
  • If yes, then from the Select an account drop-down menu, select the account to modify.

Click the arrow to expand the Advanced Call Settings section and under the Team Calling section, click Instant Group Call.

Note: In order for employees to use Instant Group Call, the account must have the correct permissions and Profile Owners must add the account in Instant Group Call settings.

Click one of the following:

  • Add Instant Group Call Group to add a new group.
  • Edit. In the Manage column, click Edit and continue to the next step.
  • Delete. In the Manage column, click Delete to remove a group.

In the Instant Group Name field, enter a description.

Enter the Extension, which typically matches the last four digits of the phone number, but you can edit it to any four-digit number. The Instant Group is populated based on phone number and extension.

Note: If you have extensions that conflict with this setup, refer to Setting Up Extensions Online to change extension settings.

Click the Time Zone drop-down menu and select the correct time.

Click the checkbox if you would like to Enable Maximum Call Time for Unanswered Call and enter a maximum number of minutes.

Click the Add Another Number link and enter up to 20 phone numbers for an Instant Group Call.

Click the Clear or Remove link to delete phone numbers from the list.

Note: If the user selects an Account from the drop-down menu, Account Administrators can also manage this Instant Group Call group and it will follow the Account Settings for the Incoming Calling Plan. If no account is selected, only the Profile Owner can manage this Instant Group Call group and will follow the Group Settings for the Incoming Call Plan.

Click the Incoming Calling Plan drop-down menu and select Custom Settings or Account Settings.

Note: Choose Custom Settings to customize the Incoming Calling Plan for this Instant Group Call group. If not, choose Account Settings.

Click Save.

Result: A message indicates the user's Instant Group Call added successfully.
