Self-Installing the Internet Gateway eWAN


Use the following steps to install the Internet Gateway eWAN.


Complete the following steps.

  1. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from your router or computer.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Gateway's upper left port or Port 1.

    Note: The Ethernet cable should be connected from the Ethernet wall outlet or Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to your Gateway.

  3. Connect the power cord from the Gateway to an electrical outlet.

    Note: Ensure that the electrical outlet isn't connected to a dimmer or a switched outlet.

Open the wifi settings on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

  1. Using the label on the bottom of the Gateway, connect to the 2.4G network using the 2.4G SSID network name and PassPhrase.
  2. Call Cox Support at 1-844-208-3743 to complete your activation.
