Resetting an Online User Password as an Email Administrator

Solution

Perform the following steps as an online email administrator to reset the password for a user under your profile.
 

Notes:

  • Only profile owners and administrators can reset passwords for other users.
  • If you have forgotten your password, see Trouble Signing in on the Cox Website.
  • Changing a user's online password also changes their WebMail password.
  • This process is for customers with an existing Cox Business email account.

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.
 

Note: If you have not created an online profile with a User ID and Password, refer to Setting Up Your Online Profile.

From the Services section, click the Internet icon.

Note: If the icon does not display, then click the arrow to view other available options.

From the Features section, click the Email Administration icon.

From the Email Administration page, click Reset User Password.

Complete the following steps to reset the user password.

  1. Click the User drop-down and select the desired online user.
  2. In the Reset Password field, enter a new password.

    Note: See Cox Password Requirements for more information.

  3. In the Confirm Password field, enter the new password a second time.
  4. Click Save.

Have the user perform the following steps to complete the password reset process.

  1. Go to myaccount-business.cox.com, enter your User ID and the password created in step 4, then click Sign In.

    Result: A password expiration message displays.

  2. Complete the following fields.
    • In the Old password field, enter the password created in step 4.
    • In the New password field, enter a new password.

      Note: See Cox Password Requirements for more information.

    • In the Repeat password field, enter the new password a second time.
  3. Click Change Password.
