National Do Not Call Registry

The National Do Not Call Registry allows customers to submit their wired and wireless phone numbers to a database that informs certain telemarketers not to contact the numbers.

Consumers can register for the National Do Not Call registry in two ways, online or by calling a toll-free number.

  • Registration is free and is available in both English and Spanish.
  • Registration does not expire unless a number is disconnected, or until the consumer takes it off the registry.
Registration Method Contact Information Requirements
Online Consumers nationwide can register online at https://donotcall.gov. If consumers register online, they must provide an email address. After registering online, consumers will receive an email and need to click on a link in the email within 72 hours to complete online registration. Email addresses on the registry will not be shared with anyone.
By phone Consumers can register by calling, toll-free, 888-382-1222 (TTY 866-290-4236). If consumers register by phone, they must call from the number they want to register.

For information on who can still solicit your numbers after you register, see https://donotcall.gov.

Submit a Complaint

If you receive telemarketing calls after you have registered your phone number and your number has been in the registry for 31 days, you can file a complaint at https://donotcall.gov or by calling 888-382-1222.

Within the telemarketing rules associated with the National Do Not Call Registry, consumers with established relationships with companies such as Cox may continue to receive sales calls from those companies.
