Managing WiFi Settings in Cox Business MyAccount

From the WiFi settings section you can create your WiFi name, password, and manage the guest WiFi settings for your Gateway.

Complete the following steps to manage your WiFi settings.

Click the WiFi tab.

Click the Primary WiFi drop-down arrow to manage the following options.

Note: For additional information on 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz networks, see Wireless Network Setup Recommendations.

Click View More.

From the View More section you can manage the following settings.

• Channel Selection: Set the gateway to Automatically or Manually select the channel number.
  
  Note: If Manual is selected, then enter the specific channel (1-11) and the channel width (20MHz or 40MHz).
  
  
• Security: Select the wireless security mode WPA2-Personal or WPA-WPA2 Personal. See Ways to Secure Your Wireless Network for additional information on these settings.
  
  Important: WPA2-Personal is the most secure option.
   
• Encryption: AES+TKIP is the default value and cannot be changed.
• WiFi Mode: Select the standard for the frequency to communicate and transfer data.
  
  Note: The most frequently used are g and n.

Click the Guest WiFi drop-down arrow to manage the following options.

Important: You can enable up to three 2.4 GHz and three 5.0 GHz channels. Guest WiFi users must agree to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) terms and conditions. The DMCA displays through a splash page before the user accesses the internet. Guest WiFi traffic is limited to 5Mbps download speed per user and bandwidth is separate from your subscribed service.

Complete the following steps to manage guest WiFi.

1. From the Guest WiFi network, click Manage.
   
   
   
   
2. From the Manage SSID Broadcast Schedule window, enter the desired broadcast start and end times for each day of the week.
   
   
   
   
3. Click Save.

Click View More.

From the View More section you can manage the following settings.

• Security: Select the wireless security mode Open, WPA2-Personal or WPA-WPA2 Personal. See Ways to Secure Your Wireless Network for additional information on these settings.
  
  Important: WPA2-Personal is the most secure option.
  
  
• Encryption: AES+TKIP is the default value and cannot be changed.

Click the Logging drop-down menu to view the changes made to your settings.
