Managing Existing Webex Accounts


Your MyAccount username is used to establish your Webex for Cox Business service. To successfully use Webex, you must ensure you do not have an existing Webex username that matches your MyAccount username.

Note: If you do not have a Webex account, refer to https://www.cox.com/business/collaboration/webex.html.

If you have an existing Webex username, choose one of the following options.

  • Delete the existing Webex account / username. Cox Business can then create a username with Webex.
  • Change your MyAccount username to prevent a conflict with the existing Webex username.

If your MyAccount username contains a domain that is claimed by Webex, choose one of the following options.

  • Release the domain.
  • Change your MyAccount username to prevent a conflict with the existing Webex username.
Note: If the domain is already claimed by another service provider, or you have a paid account with Cisco, you may see another company’s branding on the password screen.
  • This indicates that there is an existing Webex service.
  • The username must be removed / released by your current Webex administrator before proceeding with Cox Webex Activation.

Note: When modifying a Webex user in MyAccount, unassign the number from the current user before making changes. The preferred method is to create an entirely new user, unassign the number from the old user and then assign the number to the new user.
