Internet Service Provider Requirements for CBSS Services


To use an Internet Service Provider (ISP), other than Cox-provided internet services for your Cox Business Security Solutions (CBSS) detection / surveillance services, you will need a compatible internet broadband service that is connected, operational, and adheres to the following requirements.

CBSS Service Requirements
  • An active internet port with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) on the local area network (LAN).
  • A public static IP address on the wide-area network (WAN) to access the network internet device.

    Note: If you change your public IP address, you are unable to connect to your system outside your LAN unless the network interface device is reconfigured for the new IP address.

  • A minimum upstream data rate of 5 Mbps. A higher upstream bandwidth is recommended if you will have multiple users accessing the system remotely.
  • Access and login credentials to your network interface device to configure the system for remote access.
Detection An active internet port with DHCP on the LAN.
