ID Scan is a security feature which uses images of the Cox Business MyAccount profile owner or administrator's ID and of themselves, also known as a selfie, as an additional layer of verification when resetting a user's password.
When ID Scan is triggered, a verification link is sent via text message to a US mobile number or an email address listed as an existing contact method on the account. The link provides a guided walkthrough on how to capture and submit images of the profile owner or administrator's ID and selfie.
If you are unable to complete the ID capture and upload after three attempts, on-screen instructions display with the following options.
- Ask another profile owner or administrator to log in to MyAccount to reset the password for any impacted users.
- Wait 24 hours to attempt the process again.
