All modems and gateways must meet the following criteria to be certified for use with Cox Business Internet.
- Compatible with your Cox Business Internet package
- DOCSIS 3.1 and IPv6 compliant
- Reasonably clean and sanitary
- In good working order
If you attempt to use a modem that isn't compatible with Cox Business Internet service as listed below or isn't in good working order, the modem cannot be installed. Cox reserves the right to charge for any additional work caused by this attempt.
Certified DOCSIS 3.1 Devices
The DOCSIS 3.1 devices below are certified for use with Cox Business Internet packages, as noted in the following table.
Cox Business offers modems for lease only. Modems marked as Available to Purchase in Retail can be bought from any third-party retailer.

DOCSIS 2.0 and 3.0 Devices
Although the DOCSIS 2.0 and 3.0 devices may still be in use with some Cox Business Internet services, they can't be installed on any accounts. If you're using a DOCSIS 2.0 or DOCSIS 3.0 device below, then contact us to discuss upgrade options.
