Contour receivers can be put on standby to reduce power usage without affecting scheduled recordings. Power saver mode can be activated at any time by saying “power down” into the Voice remote or by performing the following steps.

Press the CONTOUR button to display the Main Menu.

Use the arrow buttons to highlight the gear icon, and then press OK.

Use the down arrow to highlight Device Settings, and then press OK.

Use the down arrow to highlight Power Preferences, and then press OK.

Review the following information regarding the Power Saver feature.
- Power Saver setting impacts to screensaver activation varies between IPTV and non-IPTV customers.
- IPTV Customers
- If Power Saver is enabled, then an "Are You Still There?" overlay message displays after approximately four hours. If no response is received, then the box will either go into sleep mode or display the screensaver.
- If Power Saver is disabled, then content continues to play without interruption.
- Non-IPTV Customers
- If Power Saver is enabled, then an "Are You Still There?" overlay message displays after approximately four hours. If no response is received, then the box will either go into sleep mode or display the screensaver.
- If Power Saver is disabled, then an "Are You Still There?" overlay message displays after approximately eight hours to conserve bandwidth used for delivery. If no response is received, then the box will either go into sleep mode or display the screen saver.
- Most receivers can be put in Power Saver mode using the Power button on the front or top of the receiver. This does not turn the TV off.
- The Wireless 4K Contour Stream Player does not have a Power button and can only be powered down through the Device Settings menu.
- Pushing any button on the remote will power the receiver on quickly.
