Contour and Power Save Mode


Contour receivers can be put on standby to reduce power usage without affecting scheduled recordings. Power saver mode can be activated at any time by saying “power down” into the Voice remote or by performing the following steps.


Press the CONTOUR button to display the Main Menu.


Use the arrow buttons to highlight the gear icon, and then press OK.


Use the down arrow to highlight Device Settings, and then press OK.


Use the down arrow to highlight Power Preferences, and then press OK.
The below table provides the different available power save options.

Power SaverUse Ok button to toggle OnOff.
Note: The receiver powers down when the TV is turned off.
HDMI Device Control (HDMI-CEC)Use Ok button to toggle On / Off.

Note: Turning this feature on puts the box in standby mode when the TV is turned off.
Sleep Now
  1. Press the Ok button.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to select Cancel or Sleep Now, then press Ok.

Note: Selecting this option puts the box into standy mode immediately.

  1. Press the Ok button.
  2. Use the arrow buttons to select Restart, then press Ok.
Note: This action turns the receiver off and then back on.

Review the following regarding the Power Save feature.

  • Most receivers can be put in Power Save mode using the Power button on the front or top of the receiver. This does not turn the TV off.
  • The Wireless 4K Contour Stream Player does not have a power button and can only be powered down through the Device Settings menu.
  • Pushing any button on the remote will power the receiver on quickly.
