Configuring Perimeter Guard Settings in the Cox Business Security Solutions Mobile App

Solution

The Perimeter Guard feature uses Video Analytics Recording Rules to sound an alert and flash the camera’s status LED when a trigger occurs.

Complete the following steps to edit the Perimeter Guard settings in the Cox Business Security Solutions mobile app.

Log into the Cox Business Security Solutions mobile app.

In the navigation menu, tap Video.

Tap the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Tap Recording Rules.

On an existing video analytics rule, tap the Edit icon.

Make changes to the current video analytics rule as desired, then tap Next.

In the Activate Perimeter Guard section, complete the following steps.

  1. Tap the Camera Status LED to turn the LED response on or off.
  2. In the Duration drop-down, select how long the LED light will stay on.
  3. Tap the Camera Audio Alert to turn the audio alert on or off.
  4. In the Audio Sound drop-down, select the type of sound the camera will make.
  5. Adjust the Volume slider to the desired level.
  6. In the Set Minimum Delay Between Alerts drop-down, select the desired amount of time after a previous alert has completed that the camera should not start a new alert.

Make any additional changes to the video analytics rule as desired, and then click Save.
