Changing Your Secure Email Settings

Solution

If you do not know what email client you are using to access Cox Business Email, right click on the program you use to access your email and select properties. A pop-up window will tell you the name of the program and the version of the program.

Here are a few generic steps to help you update your devices.

To validate all other settings, refer to Email Server Settings.

  1. Identify all devices that you and others in your household use to access Cox Business Email.
  2. For each device, open the email client that is used for your Cox Business Email.
  3. Go to Settings to view your current outgoing server setting, then update the following.
    • In the port number field, delete 25 and enter 465.
    • Make sure SSL is enabled.
  4. Go to Settings to view your current incoming server setting, then update the following.
    • If you use POP, then in the port number field, delete 110 and enter 995.
    • If you use IMAP, then in the port number field, delete 143 and enter 993.
    • Make sure SSL is enabled.
