Internet Safety Survey Overview

Every year Cox Communications and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) survey teens and tweens to reveal the latest trends regarding their Internet use. As part of our commitment to encouraging safe and healthy online behavior among young people, Cox continues to seek a deeper understanding of online behavior amongst this age group. The survey results are a valuable tool parents, teachers and teens can use to get the most out of their Internet connection without putting themselves at risk.

This research was designed to help parents better understand teens and tweens behavior online, including:

  • How teens access the Internet

  • How much time teens spend online

  • Types of risks teens may take, or encounter, online

  • Understand the tools and techniques available to protect their teens and tweens.

In addition to our annual research about Internet safety, Cox has dedicated nearly $300 million in cash, in-kind and public service announcements to support programs that raise awareness of and help educate youth about online safety during the past 11 years.
