You can access Cox Parental Controls through the McAfee Security Center

You can control which web sites your children can visit and which sites are blocked.

Cox’s parental control software offers five age-based filter settings:



Parents can also block or allow access to Web sites for users through the Filtered Web Sites page shown below.



In addition, parents can turn on the Keyword Filtering function to help keep children from viewing inappropriate content. Keyword filtering can also be designated by age group.

You can control when your children can access the Internet, and for how long.

Cox’s parental control software can be used to determine when children can access the Internet and how long they can use it. Times can vary during the week, and are easy to adjust by using this online calendar.

You can also use the image filtering feature to block images on the Internet that may be inappropriate for certain users.

How does the computer know which child is going online? As part of the installation process, you assign each child in your home a different username that he or she needs to enter before going online.

Cox’s Parental Control software is free for all our Cox High Speed Internet customers. It is one element of the Cox Security Suite powered by McAfee, which also includes free anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-phishing, and firewall software.

Login using your Cox username and password, and then select “Security Software,” and “Install and Activate.” From there, the Installation Wizard will lead you through a few easy steps that will allow you to download and customize the software.
