 How to Turn OFF TV Caller ID

TV Caller ID is a feature that allows Cox Digital Cable and Digital Telephone customers with Caller ID the ability to see banners for Caller ID right on their television sets. This feature will be made available on 3/16/2009 for customers in Cox’s Connecticut market. If you don’t wish to have the banner appear, these simple steps will guide you on how to turn the banners off.

Notes:

  • To turn OFF Caller ID on all digital receivers in the home, follow the procedure below for each digital receiver.
  • After turning OFF TV Caller ID, the DVR digital receiver still collects and displays new call history entries. Whereas non-DVR receivers do not display the banner or collect call history..

  1. Press the MENU button twice on remote control to access the Settings menu.

    Note: Alternatively, press the Settings button and then the A button to access the Settings menu.

  2. Use the up or down arrow button to scroll and highlight the Caller ID setting.

    Result: The Caller ID Status setting displays.

  3. Use the right arrow to highlight the Caller ID Status setting.

    Result: The ON and OFF options display.

  4. Use the right arrow to highlight either:
    • ON
    • OFF

  5. Press the Select button on the remote.

    Result: The Caller ID Status displays.

  6. Press EXIT on the remote control to exit the Settings menu.
