When your phone rings but you can't get to it in time, use Call Return (*69).

Note: This service does not work on 800 numbers, 900 numbers, calls outside the specified service area, or on lines where Call Forwarding and some other call services have been activated.

How to use Call Return

  1. Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *69 (on a rotary dial phone, dial 1169).
    Result:
    A recorded voice gives you the phone number of the last incoming call and asks if you want to use call return.
  3. Follow the voice instructions to return the call. If the other phone is busy, you'll hear an announcement and Call Return will redial the number for up to 30 minutes.

    All steps complete.

How to cancel a Call Return if the callback is busy

  1. Press *89 (on a rotary phone dial 1189).
  2. Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement.
  3. Hang up the handset.
