Speed Calling allows you to quickly dial your most frequently called numbers.

How Speed Calling works:

Enter up to eight telephone numbers, local or long distance, into your Speed Calling list; and then, you can reach those people by dialing just one digit.

To program your Speed Calling list:

  1. Make a list of 8 frequently dialed numbers.
  2. Assign each one a digital code from 2 to 9.
  3. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  4. Press *74 (On a rotary phone, dial 1174.)
  5. Listen for the dial tone.
  6. Dial a one-digit speed code. (Choose any number, 2 through 9.)
  7. Dial the telephone number you wish to assign to that speed code. (For long distance calls, be sure to include "1" plus the area code.)
  8. Press the # key.
  9. Listen for the confirmation tone.

To call someone on your Speed Calling list:

  • Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  • Dial the one-digit speed code
  • Then press the # key.

To change your Speed Calling list:

  • Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  • Press *74 (On a rotary phone, dial 1174.)
  • Listen for the dial tone.
  • Dial the one-digit speed code you wish to change.
  • Listen for the cancellation tone, then the dial tone.
  • Follow steps 4 -7 above to re-program your Speed Calling list.
