If you have unplayed messages, you will hear a "distinctive stutter" tone rather than a regular dial tone when you lift the handset of your home phone. Complete the following steps to retrieve voice messages.
From your home phone:
- Lift the handset of your home phone and then enter your home phone number.
- When the greeting begins, interrupt by pressing the *key.
- When prompted, enter your password.
All steps complete.
From an outside line, mobile phone, or long-distance:
- Call your home phone number.
- When the greeting begins, interrupt by pressing the * key.
- When prompted, enter your password.
All steps complete.
Using the Cox Access Number (where available)
- From the home phone that has Caller ID Block turned ON, or from an outside line, mobile phone, or long-distance phone, you may call your Cox Access Number.
Result: A voice prompt asks you to enter your mailbox number.
- Enter your mailbox number, which is your 10-digit phone number beginning with the area code.
- When prompted, enter your password.
All steps complete.
To play messages, start at the Main Menu and press 1.
To save a message, press 9.
To delete a message, press 7.
While listening to a message, you can:
Return to previous menu, press [*].
Replay last 10 seconds of current message, press 1.
Replay from beginning of message, press 1-1.
Skip Forward 10 seconds, press 3.
Skip to end of message, press 3-3.
After a message has played, the Cox Voice Mail system will announce the telephone number of the person who left it.
You can press 8-8 during or after this announcement to automatically place a return call to the number. Or, if a callback number is not available, you will have the option of designating a number of your choice.
