How to Play Voice Messages Through the Computer
 |
Important: You must have a sound card, speakers, and an Internet media player to listen to voice messages with Phone Tools.
Complete the following steps to play voice messages.
- Log in to the Phone Tools homepage.
- Click the Message Center link.
Result: The list of active voice messages displays, including options to Delete or Listen.
- From the Listen column, click the audio icon next to the desired voice message.
Result: The voice mail message plays through the audio components on the computer.
All steps complete.
Internet media player: An Internet media player is software that allows playback of audio and video for Windows and the Internet. A media player displays in Phone Tools in one of two ways:
-
If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, a media player from Cox automatically pops up as soon as you enter the Phone Tools page, as illustrated above.
-
If you are using the Firefox or Netscape browser, the media player from Cox does not pop up. Instead, the Windows, RealPlayer, or Quicktime media player pops up only when you click the Listen icon or the Change Greeting option.
