IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING REVERSE 911®
Cox Digital Telephone has always been fully compatible with the Reverse 911 service. Our customers' safety is of utmost importance to Cox; therefore, Cox ensures that all E911 records are carefully maintained and updated by a dedicated team of E911 Specialists.
IMPORTANT: If you receive an emergency evacuation order by phone or broadcast by public safety officials – EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY – do not delay or attempt to assist emergency response crews.
Reverse 911 calls are managed by the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department for all participating landline phone carriers. While the Sheriff’s Department makes every effort to reach all affected customers, they cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. Therefore, there may be rare instances where a call may not be sent, is delayed, or is sent in error to an unaffected customer. Customers who have requested to not be included in the Phone Directory or 411 are still included in the E911 database and therefore should still receive Reverse 911 calls.
If you have any questions or concerns about Cox Digital Telephone's compatibility with Reverse 9-1-1, please contact our award winning customer service at (805) 861-6600
