(SAN DIEGO) March 4, 2009 – Starting March 5th through March 23rd teams from 16 countries will complete for the honor of being called the best baseball team in the world! Cox brings you coverage of all the action through ESPN, MLB Network, and ESPN Deportes.
ESPN and ESPN HD will present multimedia coverage of the 2009 World Baseball Classic including coverage across ESPN, ESPN HD, ESPN2, ESPN2 HD, ESPN Deportes, ESPN and more. Coverage will begin Thursday, March 5, at 4:30 a.m. ET on ESPN2. Highlights include:
- ESPN and ESPN2 will televise 23 games in the U.S. beginning March 5 2009
- All 39 games will be televised in Spanish on ESPN Deportes (the exclusive Spanish-language provider of the World Baseball Classic)
- Watch round 2 action – Sunday March 15 – Thursday, March 19 at Petco Park – televised on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes, or up close and in person at Petco Park, for tickets visit: http://www.worldbaseballclassic.com
- Semifinals will be televised on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22 – and finals, Monday, March 23 from Dodger Stadium all on ESPN, ESPN HD, and ESPN Deportes
