It is important that you transition to a new wireless provider prior to March 30, 2012; all Cox wireless lines will be deactivated after March 30, 2012. To keep your present wireless telephone number, you will need to transition that number to another wireless provider prior to March 30, 2012. Once you've selected a new wireless provider and your Cox Wireless service is deactivated, we will apply the credit of $150 per line to your account. Cox TV, high speed Internet, residential telephone and commercial services will not be affected by this change.

*** Offer is valid from 11/16/11 - 3/31/12. Customer must port their active wireless Cox number to Sprint to be eligible for the service credit. Customer must activate on a new eligible rate plan with a new Sprint device and a 2 year agreement (they cannot bring their Cox phone to Sprint). Service credit is applied at the account level within 2-3 invoices. Additional lines added to the account will not be eligible for the offer. Q: Why is Cox ending my wireless service?
While we very much appreciate your business, the reality is that as a new entrant to the wireless business, it has proven difficult to achieve the wireless scale needed to successfully compete in the marketplace. As such, we are ending sales of new wireless services immediately and will provide service to existing customers through March 30, 2012.
Q: Can I keep my phone?
Yes, you can keep your wireless device. However, Cox Wireless service will be disconnected effective March 30, 2012.
Q: Can I use my phone with a different wireless provider?
Your phone will not work on another provider's network. You will need to switch to another wireless provider.
Q: Will my phone still work after March 30, 2012?
After March 30, 2012, you will not be able to make or receive calls, text messages or use 3G data services.
Q: Will my phone be able make a call to 911 after March 30, 2012?
Yes. Calls to 911 will not be disabled.
Q: Will Cox dispose of my phone if I don't want to keep it?
Yes. You can drop-off your device at any Cox retail store. We recommend that you remove any personal information on the phone.
Q: What will happen if I don't change my wireless phone service by March 30, 2012?
Your service will be disconnected on March 30, 2012 and you may lose the phone number associated with that phone.
Q: How do I change my wireless service provider?
You can contact the provider of your choice to transfer your number to another provider. Of course, there will be no early termination fees.
Q: Will my Cox High Speed Internet On-the-Go mobile broadband (data card) service still work?
Your data card will no longer function as of March 30, 2012.
Q: I have a smartphone with Wi-Fi. Will my Wi-Fi service still work?
Dependent on the device, your WiFi connection may continue to work after you disconnect your wireless service with Cox. However, your 3G wireless services provided by Cox will no longer work.
Q: Can I keep my Cox Wireless phone number?
Yes, you can transfer your current wireless phone number to another wireless provider through March 30, 2012. After this date, your wireless number may not be available to transfer.
Q: Can I transfer my number to Cox Digital Telephone service?
Yes, you can transfer your Cox Wireless number to Cox Digital Telephone service through March 30, 2012.
Q: Will I be charged an early termination fee to change wireless providers?
There will be no early termination fees.
Q: Will I get a refund for my device?
You are eligible for a refund only if you purchased your device on or after October 16, 2011 and returned it within 30 days of purchase. If you purchased your phone prior to October 16, 2011, you are eligible for a $150 service credit per line when you disconnect your service.
Q: Will I lose my Bundle Benefit?
Your Bundle Benefit discount will remain on your account until November 16, 2013.
Q: My Bundle Benefit is early nights and weekends, can I change my Bundle Benefit?Yes, you can select one of the other Bundle Benefits available: Internet Speed Upgrade, Premium Channel or Unlimited Long Distance at home.
Q: What happens to my Bundle Benefit after November 16, 2013?The Bundle Benefit discount will expire November 16, 2013. You will receive the bundle benefit for two years from 11/16/2011 if you keep your service with Cox. Q: Will I still receive my mail-in rebate?Yes, if you are eligible for a device or account rebate, it will be processed within our normal process. You can check the status of your rebate at www.web-rebates.com/coxwireless.
Q: Can I add another line to my family plan?Additional lines cannot be added to your account effective November 16, 2011.
Q: Will I still have access to personal information on my phone, such as contacts, calendar notes, etc.?
Personal information on your Cox phone will continue to reside on it until you delete it. When you select a new wireless service provider, the new provider may be able to copy this information to your new phone. This capability varies by wireless provider.
