Turn off TV interactive ads with a digital video recorder and your remote.

Interactive program ads are banners that are displayed on the top or bottom third of your TV screen during a commercial of infomercial. You can use your remote control to disable the ads on your DVR.
On your remote control, press the Settings button, then press the A button to display the General Settings menu.
Press the up or down arrow on your remote control to highlight My Preferences.
Press the right arrow on your remote control to display more options.
Press the up or down arrow button on the remote to navigate to Enhanced TV Apps on the menu.
Press the right arrow and then press the up or down arrow to select Disabled.

Press the Select button on your remote control to accept or confirm the change.

Result: A white dot appears beside the setting.

Press the Exit button on the remote to return to the full-screen TV.
