Your remote offers some of the latest features:
Setting Up Your Remote Control
|Program for TV or audio device.|
Trying to add a third device will delete one or both programmed devices.
If none of the listed codes work, try the automatic code search steps below.
|Use automatic code search to find TV or audio device code.|
|Clear programmed devices to add new devices.|
|Pair with receiver.|
Important: When paired with a receiver, the remote will not control any other receivers in your home. To use the remote with a different receiver, unpair the remote.
|Unpair the remote.|
When not paired, the remote uses IR signal only and line-of-sight is needed to control a receiver.
Troubleshooting Your Remote Control
|Check remote battery|
|Troubleshoot not controlling TV or audio device|
TVs and audio devices are controlled with IR only and always require line-of-sight. First ensure there is direct line-of-sight between the remote and the device.
|Troubleshoot TV audio control not responding to long presses||Some IR codes only partially work for a TV. If the volume control only changes one step at a time, or does not slide up or down with long presses of the volume buttons, try a different code for the TV.|
|Troubleshoot latency or receiver unresponsive to button presses|
A brief delay or latency of a few seconds is within normal operation.
Remote LED Indicator
The remote LED blinks when a command is sent to any device, and during setup and programming.
The color of the LED indicates whether the remote is operating in IR or RF mode, as shown in the table below. In paired RF mode, the remote blinks twice - once when a command is sent, and again when the receiver confirms receipt.
|Green, green||A command was sent and received in RF mode.||No action required, the remote is paired to the receiver. If there is latency of more than 5 seconds, unpair and re-pair the remote and receiver.|
|Green, red||A command was sent in RF mode, but receiver did not confirm.||Unpair and re-pair the remote and receiver.|
|Red||A command was sent in IR mode. The LED blinks red once for all TV and audio device commands.||If the remote LED blinks red after a command to the receiver, such as pressing the GUIDE button, the remote is in IR mode. Unpair and re-pair the remote and receiver for RF operation.|
Using Voice Command
- Ensure the remote is paired to the receiver.
- Ensure you are 1-8 inches away from the microphone located at the top of the remote.
- Press and hold the Voice (mic symbol) button while talking.
Result: The LED on the remote flashes and a microphone symbol displays on your TV indicating Contour is listening.
- Say what you want to do or see, and let Contour do the rest. The table below provides some suggested phrasing.
