Using Anonymous Call Rejection

Learn how to use *77 to activate Anonymous Call Rejection.


Anonymous Call Rejection is a service allowing you to reject calls from anyone who has their number Blocked or set to Private so you cannot see it on your Caller ID. With Anonymous Call Rejection, any caller who has blocked his or her number from your Caller ID display will hear an announcement stating you do not accept anonymous calls, and that they must remove the blocking and call back. All other calls will ring through as usual.

Note: This feature does not block Unknown Name, Unknown, Unknown Number, or Out of Area calls. These calls are either from an area that does not support Caller ID services, or the number has never been in our database to be blocked. To completely block unwanted calls, refer to Selective Call Rejection.
Turn on Anonymous Call Rejection

  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *77 or on a rotary phone, dial 1177.
  3. After you hear a confirmation tone or announcement, hang up the handset.
Turn off Anonymous Call Rejection
  1. Press *87 or on a rotary phone, dial 1187.
  2. When you hear a confirmation tone or announcement, hang up the handset.
