Using Voice Mail Personal Options

Summary

Learn to create greetings, add Mailboxes, send notifications to pagers, retrieve messages, and other options.

Solution

The first step is to call your voice mailbox number. Then enter your PIN. Once your PIN is accepted you will hear the following options:

  • 1 to replay a message
  • 2 to respond to a message, then:
    • 1 to call the sender
    • 2 to send a message to the sender
    • 4 to forward the message
    • 5 to send a new message
  • 3 to erase a message, then:
    • 1 to confirm the deletion
    • 2 to cancel the deletion
  • 4 to forward a message, then:
    • 1 to add own message, then:
      • 1 to finalize the recording, then:
        • 1 to send the message
        • 2 to change the priority
        • 3 to change the confidentiality
        • 6 for future delivery schedule
        • 9 to hear current settings
      • 2 to review the recording
      • 3 to re-record
      • 4 to continue recording
    • 2 to send without own message, then:
      • 1 to send the message
      • 2 to change the priority
      • 3 to change the confidentiality
      • 6 for future delivery schedule

  • 5 to play a message header

  • 1 for the Distribution List Menu, then:
    • 1 to work with an existing distribution list. Enter the distribution list number, then press:
      • 1 to add a member
      • 2 to remove a member
      • 3 to delete the distribution list
      • 4 to hear all of the members
      • 5 to change the name
    • 2 to create a new distribution list. Enter a number for the distribution list , record a name, and add members one at a time. 
    • 3 to hear all existing distribution lists
  • 3 for the Login Options Menu, then:
    • 1 to change the PIN
    • 2 for fast access options, then:
      • 1 to change the fast login setting
      • 2 change the PIN skip setting
  • 4 for the Notification Settings Menu, then:

Note: To access Option 5 choose 0 for Additional Options 

  • 5 to work with how messages are played, then:
    • 1 for upfront urgent message play on / off
    • 2 for automatic message play on / off
    • 3 for voice message play, then:
      • 1 for header only
      • 2 for body only
      • 3 for both header and body
  • 6 for business days and hours, then:
    • 1 for business days
    • 2 for business hours, then:
      • 1 to change the start time
      • 2 to change the end time
      • *3 to use Standard time
  • 9 for message deletion confirmation, then:
    • 1 to change the confirmation setting
    • 2 for no change
5 to access old mailbox

 Enter your old PIN used for your old mailbox, then:

  • Press 1 to play any of the old messages left 
  • To save an old message, contact us before the message expires and no later than 20 days after the new Cox Voice Mail system launchs and ask us to set up an email notification service on your old mailbox. Then you'll have at least 10 days to forward any old messages to your email address as a .wav file attachment that can be saved to your computer hard drive.
6 for the Handle Incoming Call Menu for Group or Multi-line Mailboxes
  • 2 for the Goup Mailbox setting, then:
    • 1 to turn the Group Mailbox on or off
  • 4 for the inbound call setting (available only for secondary Multi-Line Mailbox numbers), then:
    • 1 to change the greetings setting to primary tor secondary
7 to review outgoing messages
  • 1 for the Reminders Menu, then:
    • 1 to schedule a reminder, then:
      • 1 for a one-time reminder (enter month, day, and time, then confirm, then record the reminder)
      • 2 for a daily reminder, then:
        • 1 for an every day reminder (enter time, then confirm, then record the reminder)
        • 2 for a week day reminder (enter time, then confirm, then record the reminder)
        • 3 for a weekend reminder (enter time, then confirm, then record the reminder)
    • 2 to work with an existing reminder, then:
      • 1 to work with a one-time reminder, then:
        • 1 to play the reminder
        • 2 to re-schedule the reminder
        • 3 to re-record the reminder
        • 4 to cancel the reminder
        • # to continue with the next one
      • 2 to work with a daily reminder, then:
        • 1 to play the reminder
        • 2 to re-schedule the reminder
        • 3 to re-record the reminder
        • 4 to cancel the reminder
        • # to continue with the next one
  • 2 to review future delivery messages, then:
    • 1 to keep the current settings
    • 2 to listen to the message
    • 3 to re-record the message
