Using Call Return
Last Updated: Wed, 13 Aug 2014 > Related Articles
Call return allows you to call the last number that called you by pressing *69.
To return a call that you were unable to answer in time, complete the following steps.
- Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
- Press *69 or on a rotary dial phone, dial 1169.
Result: A recorded voice gives you the phone number of the last incoming call and asks if you want to use call return.
- Follow the voice instructions to return the call.
If the other phone is busy, you will hear an announcement and Call Return will redial the number for up to 30 minutes. A special call back ring alerts when the line becomes free. Some phones may ring normally.
Important: This service does not work on 800 numbers, 900 numbers, calls outside the specified service area, or on lines where Call Forwarding and some other call services have been activated.
Canceling a Call Return if the Callback Number is Busy
- Press * 89 or on a rotary phone, dial 1189.
- Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement.
- Hang up the handset.
