Learn how to fix a stuck channel by sending a box hit to your Motorola cable box.
Is your cable box stuck on a particular channel? When you use the remote to send a command, does the channel fail to change even though the LED light flashes? If so, the issue may be your cable box and not the remote.
You can fix this problem yourself by sending a box hit to your Motorola cable box using the Internet or the IVR.
- To use the Internet, view this help file: Resetting Your Cable Connection.
- To use the IVR, follow the steps below:
Contact Cox and press 1 for Existing Customer. Then when prompted, enter the last 4 digits of your social security number.
Choose option 3 for Technical Support.
Choose Cable TV.
Result: You hear the following message.
"If you are calling regarding an error code, picture freeze or audio interruption, a reset of your cable box may resolve the issue."
Result: After the box hit is complete, you hear this message:
“Your cable box is being reset. This process may take up to 15 minutes. If you still need assistance, press 0. To return to the main menu, press the star key. To end this call, press 9."
