Want to learn how to manage your Cox Home Network? The following information will guide you. 
 

 

Login and Access Cox Home Network Manager

 

 

  1.  From the Cox.com, hover over My Connection.
  2. Click Internet Tools.


Result: The Internet Tools page displays.
 

  1. Enter primary User ID and Password, then click Sign In.

    Result
    : The Internet Tools home page displays. 
  1. From the Enhancements menu, locate the Home Networking section and select Run Cox Home Network Manager.

    Result: The Cox Home Network Manager main page displays. From here, you can navigate the left section of the Cox Home Network Manager page which includes Network Status, My Network, My Wireless Network, and Advanced - Port Forwarding.  

View Network Status

 

Note: If the device is connected, an automatic check-in will occur. The Network Status section will display the Broadband and Wireless availability and a check in status message will display.

Manage My Network

 

 

The My Network section includes a link to the Local Network, Known Devices, and Devices Online. The Known Devices and Devices Online are LAN devices attached to the your device. The devices may be physically attached via Ethernet cable, or connected wirelessly, if wireless networking is enabled.  Known Devices is the total amount of devices previously recognized as attached to your device, and Devices Online is the actual number of devices currently connected.
 

Managing Your Local Network
 

When you initially access the Home Network Manager, the Local Network window may display. From the Local Network window you can view your devices.
 

To view a specific device, select the device from the Local Network window. 

Result: The Local Network window displays information specific to the selected device which includes: 
 

  • Device Information
  • My Device Settings
  • Remote Management Settings (if applicable)

Device Information

From here, you can Edit Name and Icon, or Delete Device.
 

Important: If the device is unavailable or the check-in does not complete, changes made from this window will not be saved to the device.

To change the device icon or device name:
 

  1. Click the Edit Name and Icon button.

    Result
    : A pop-up window displays.

  1. In the field provided you can enter the new name of the device, and select select a new icon, if you want one.
  2. Click the OK button.
  3. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.

To delete the device:
 

  1. Click the Delete Device button from the Device Information section. 

    Result: A pop-up box displays to confirm that you wish to delete the device. 

  2. Click the Delete button.
  3. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.

Remote Management Settings
 

From the Remote Management Setting sections you can edit the URL or disable Remote Management Access.
 

Important: Remote Management Settings will only work on devices that have a Remote Management Interface which is determined by the vendor. 
 

Note: If the device is unavailable or the check-in does not complete, changes made from this window will not be saved to the device.  
 

To edit the url:
 

Note: If applicable, the Local Interface URL allows you to enter a Port or Path to the interface. 

  1. Click the Edit URL button.

    Result:  The Edit Local Interface Access window displays.
  1. Enter Port or Path.
  2. Click the OK button. 
  3. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.

To disable Remote Management Access:
 

  1. Click the Disable Remote Management Access button. 

    Result: A Disable Local Interface Access pop-up box displays to confirm that you wish to disable Remote Management Access. 
  2. Click the Disable button.
  3. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page

Manage My Wireless Network

 

  1. To manage your wireless settings, locate My Wireless Network on the left pane of the Home Network Manager main page. 
  2. Click the Wireless Settings link.

Result: The Wireless Settings window displays the wireless Channel and Settings.  From here you can change the Channel, enable or disable wireless, change the Network Name, Restore Factory Network Name, enable or disable the Broadcast Network, change the Security Type, and Network Password.

Change the Channel
  1. From the Channel section, click the drop down menu and select a Channel number or Auto.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.
Enable or disable wireless
  1. From the Settings section, click the Enabled check box to enable or disable wireless.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.
Change the Network Name or Restore Factory Network Name
  1. From the Settings section, enter the desired Network Name.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.

or

  1. From the Settings section, click the Restore Factory Network Name button.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.

 

Enable or disable Broadcast Network
  1. From the Settings section, click the Broadcast Network Name check box to enable or disable broadcasting the network name.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.
Change the Security Type
  1. From the Settings section, click the Security Type drop down menu and select a wireless security type.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.
Change the Network Password
  1.  From the Settings section, enter the desired Network Password.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.

Add or Delete Port Forwarding- Advanced

 

  1. To Manage Port Forwarding, locate Advanced on the Home Network Manager main page. 
  2. Click the Port Forwarding link.

Result: The Port Forwarding window displays all Active Port Forwards. From here you can Add or Delete a Port Forward.

Add Port Forward
  1. Select the Add Port Forward button.

    Result: The Add Port Forwards window displays.

Delete Port Forward
  1. From the Active Port Forwards list, locate the Port Forward you wish to delete and click the Delete button.
  2. Click the Save button on the Home Network Manager main page.
