AirPort is used on Macs to set up and manage Wi-Fi connections. The AirPort icon is found in the menu bar next to the clock.
If the icon is empty, Airport is turned off, or you are not within Wi-Fi range. If the icon is filled in, you are currently within Wi-Fi range.
To turn AirPort on:

To sign out of Cox WiFi, turn Wi-Fi off on your device.
