The Netgear WNR2000 has the following ports available on the back of the router:

  • Power - Connects the router to the power adapter.
  • Power (On/Off) - Button to turn the router on or off.
  • Internet - Connects the router to the cable modem.
  • Ethernet (1-4) - Connects to the Ethernet port on your computer(s).
  • Reset - Used to reset the router.

The lights indicate the current status of your router. To troubleshoot any connection problems, use the table below.

Flashing GreenThe router firmware is corrupted.To restore your firmware:
  1. Make sure the PC is connected to the router and the router is powered on.
  2. Insert the Resource CD that came with the router
  3. Click Supporting Software, then Netgear Firmware Recovery Utility, and follow the prompts for the recovery process.
  4. After firmware recovery is complete, follow the prompts to restore the configuration settings.

Note: If the light is a fast blink, then a software update is in progress.

Flashing AmberThe router has a problem.If the Power light is still amber 1 minute after turning on power to the router, then turn the power off and back on to see if the router recovers.
OffNo powerVerify power supply connections and electrical outlet. Also make sure the outlet is not connected to a switch.
