Solution

Here are some tips to help you to create and manage folders in Enhanced WebMail.

Before beginning, make sure you are signed in to Enhanced WebMail.

  1. Go to webmail.cox.net.
  2. Enter User ID and Password.
  3. Click the Enhanced WebMail radio button.
  4. Click Sign In.

Creating a Folder 

To create a folder for your email messages, follow the steps below.

From the WebMail Inbox, click the Add a new folder to the list icon.

Result: A new folder displays in the list with the default name Untitled.

In the field next to the new folder, enter a folder name.

Renaming a Folder 

To rename a folder, follow the steps below.

Select the folder you want to rename.

Click the folder title and enter a new name, then press Enter.

Note: A folder can also be renamed by right-clicking on it to select Rename Folder.

Deleting a Folder 

To delete a folder, follow the steps below.

Select the folder you want to delete.

Note: The following default folders cannot be deleted.

  • Inbox
  • Drafts
  • Sent Mail
  • Spam
  • Trash

Click the Delete selected folder from list icon.

Note: A folder can also be deleted by right-clicking it to select Delete Folder, or by dragging and dropping the folder in the Trash folder.

In the confirmation message that displays, click yes.

Result: The folder is deleted and sent to the Trash folder.

Deleting Messages in a Folder 

To delete messages in a folder, follow the steps below.

Select the folder that contains the email messages you want to delete.

To delete all the messages in a folder, place a check in the top box. You can also select a single message or multiple messages.

Click the Delete button.

Note: A message can also be deleted by right-clicking it to select Delete Message, or by dragging and dropping the message in the Trash folder.

Result: The messages are deleted from the folder and sent to the Trash folder.

Emptying the Trash Folder 

To empty the trash folder of all messages, follow the steps below.

Select the Trash folder, then click Empty Trash.

Note: The Trash folder can also be emptied by right-clicking it to select Empty Trash.

In the confirmation message that displays, click yes.

Result: All messages in the Trash folder are permanently deleted.

Important: The Trash folder automatically empties overnight to free up storage space.
