The iPhone and iPad will automatically configure the correct mail server settings for Cox residential email customers. You can set up you email via the following ways:

Auto-Configuration 
 
Enter your Cox.net user ID and password, then your iPhone or iPad will complete the setup.

Note: The steps may vary by model / version.

  1. From the iPhone or iPad home screen, tap Settings.

    Result: The Settings screen displays.
     
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then Add Account.

    Result: The Add Account screen displays.
     
  3. Tap Other.
  4. Tap Add Mail Account.
     
    Result: The New Account screen displays.
     
  5. Enter Name, Cox.net email Address, Password, and Description, then tap Next or Save.
     
    Result: Your email is now configured.

Manual Steps  
 
The following steps represent the manual process to set up an iPhone or iPad to send and receive Cox.net email if the automatic configuration does not choose the correct settings.
 
Note: The steps may vary by model / version.
 

  1. From the iPhone or iPad home screen, tap Settings.
     
    Result: The Settings screen displays.
     
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars, then Add Account.
     
    Result: The Add Account screen displays.
     
  3. Tap Other
  4. Tap Add Mail Account.
     
    Result: The New Account screen displays.
     
  5. Enter Name, Cox.net email Address, Password, and Description, then tap Next or Save.
     
    Result: A New Account screen displays.
     
  6. Tap POP or IMAP.
  7. Under Incoming Mail Server, enter the incoming mail server settings, user name, and password.
     
    • Host Name - Your incoming mail server.

    • User Name - The first part of your Cox.net email address without the @cox.net
    • Password - Your Cox.net email password. 
  8. Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter the outgoing mail server settings, user name, and password.
     
    Note: Although the User Name and Password fields show as optional, these are required to send Cox.net email on your device.
     
    • Host Name - Your outgoing mail server.

    • User Name - The first part of your Cox.net email address without the @cox.net.
    • Password - Your Cox.net email password.
  9. Tap Save.
