Solution

The following steps will help you learn how to connect your WiFi enabled device to your In-Home network. You will need to know your network name (SSID) and password. If you don't remember the login information, use the steps in Finding Your In-Home WiFi Network SSID or Password

It’s important to note that the type of device you are connecting to your In-Home WiFi network may impact wireless speed performance if your device has older wireless technology. For more information, refer to Ways to Improve Your In-Home WiFi Network.

Due to the numerous WiFi devices and configurations available, Cox is only able to provide basic settings for the most common household devices. Please refer to the user manual for your device should you require additional assistance.

Device or Operating SystemSteps to Enable WiFiSteps To Connect to the In-Home WiFi Network
Apple iOS
  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. If Wi-Fi is set to OFF, tap the OFF button to turn it on.
  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
     
    Result: Your device searches for available Wi-Fi networks in range.
     
  3. Tap your network name from the list of available networks (SSIDs).
     
    Result: A check mark will appear next to the selected network.
     
  4. Enter the Network Passphrase or Security Key.
  5. Tap Ok.
Android
  1. Touch the Settings icon.
  2. Touch Wireless & networks and / or Wi-Fi.
  3. If turned off, touch Wi-Fi to turn it on.
     
    Note: These settings may vary between different manufacturers and Android versions. We recommend you refer to your owner’s manual for exact steps.
  1. Touch Scan to search for available networks.
  2. Touch your network name from the list of available networks (SSIDs).
  3. Enter the Network Passphrase or Security Key.
  4. Tap Connect.
Kindle Fire
  1. Tap Quick Settings or Wireless.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. If Wi-Fi is set to OFF, tap ON to turn it on.
  1. Tap Quick Settings or Wireless.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
     
    Result
    : A list of available networks displays.
     
  3. Tap your network name from the list of available networks (SSIDs).
    4.Enter the Network Passphrase or Security Key..
Windows 8
  1. From the App list, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Make sure Wi-Fi networking is set to On.
  1. From the App list, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Select your network name from the list of available networks (SSIDs).
  4. Enter your Username and Password.
  5. Tap Done.
