Setting the Cox Home Security Touchscreen to Night Mode

Learn how to set your Cox Home Security touchscreen to dim completely during a designated period of time. This is often referred to as Night Mode.


Follow this process to set your touchscreen to automatically dim at a designated time each day. This is referred to as night mode.

The screen will dim to level one, this is the lowest setting available.

On the touchscreen home screen, touch Settings.

Enter the Master Code to proceed to the Settings menu.

From the Settings menu, touch TouchScreen.

From the Screen Configurations menu, touch Screen Nighttime Settings.

Result: A screen will display with backlight setting options.


On the screen provided, set the times that you want your screen to automatically dim and brighten.

The table below explains how to correctly set the backlight options.

Backlight off at nightYesThe screen will dim during the designated time period.
NoThe screen will not dim during the designated time period. If it is set to dim after a period of inactivity, that will still happen.
Backlight off timeThis is the time that the screen will automatically dim to level one.
Backlight on timeThis is the time that the screen will automatically brighten to the default level.
