In preparation for your Cox Homelife installation, there are some important things you need to know.

  • Permits - Your city may require you to obtain a Homelife permit prior to installation. Refer to Cox Homelife Ordinances and Permit Documents to review your city’s ordinances and permit requirements. Follow the instructions outlined on your city’s website, if applicable.
  • Email access - During installation, you are required to access the email account on file with Cox. Ensure you have an installed Internet connection and access to email prior to the technician’s arrival.
  • Preparing for your installation - Cox Homelife gives you a lot of great features. In order to learn those features quickly and reduce risk of causing false alarms, download and complete the Preparing For Your Installation (PDF) prior to your installation. Your technician needs this information during the system activation process.
