Solution

This section has been published and created for training purposes only. The User Interface has not been released at this time and the section should not be used until the launch date of August 25, 2016.

The duress keypad code can be used if an intruder forces you to arm / disarm your system or access your security settings. Rather than entering your keypad code, enter the duress keypad code. When you do this, full access to your Touchscreen is granted, but a silent alarm is immediately sent to the Central Monitoring Station and police are dispatched.

Learn to Change the code in the Subscriber Portal

Follow the steps below to change the duress code in the Subscriber Portal.

Sign into the Cox Homelife Subscriber Portal and complete the following steps:

  1. From the My Home page, click the More menu.
  2. Select Keypad Codes.

  3. On the Keypad Codes window, click the Pencil icon.

In the Account Verification window, enter the Master Code.

In the Edit Keypad Code window, complete the following steps:

  1. Enter a new 4-Digit Code.
  2. Click SAVE.

Result: Your new duress code is active.
 

Change in the Mobile App

Follow the steps below to edit the duress code through the Cox Homelife Mobile App.

Sign in to the Cox Homelife Mobile App.

Tap the More menu, select Keypad Codes.

The Keypad Codes screen displays. Tap the pencil icon next to Duress contact.

The Account Verification screen displays. Enter your Master Security Keypad Code.

  1. Enter the desired 4-Digit Code.
  2. Tap SAVE.

Change on the Touchscreen

Learn to change the duress code on the touchscreen.

From the Cox Homelife Touchscreen Settings menu, tap Security > Manage Keypad Codes.

Tap Edit in the Duress field.

If duress code is enabled, tap 4-Digit code field to change your current code.

If duress code is disabled, tap Enable Duress Code.

Enter the new 4-digit duress code.

Note: Verify the new code before you save it.

Tap Save.

Result: Your new duress code is active.
