Equipment Hookup Diagrams
VCR's and Cable Hookups
Hookup #1

- Cable from the wall outlet goes to the "in" on
the cable converter box.
- Cable from the "out" on the cable converter box goes to
the "in" on the VCR.
- Cable from the "out" on the VCR, goes to the "in" on
the TV.
Benefits
- Can make tapes from premium channels
- Can make a tape for later viewing
- Limitations
- Cannot watch any other channel while taping
Hookup #2

- Cable from the wall outlet goes to the splitter.
- Cable from the splitter goes to the "in" on the cable
box.
- Cable from the splitter to the "A" on the A/B switch.
- Cable from the "out" of the cable box to the "in" on
the VCR.
- Cable from the "out" on the VCR to the "B" on
the A/B switch.
- Cable from the A/B switch to the TV.
Benefits
- Can tape one channel (including premium channels) while viewing
another basic channel.
- Limitations
- Cannot view a premium channel while taping another channel.
- Cannot use the VCR's built-in timer to switch channels for
taping a second channel later.*
*Customers with an addressable decoder box avoid this limitation
by using the decoder's own program timer or VCR+ feature to switch
channels.
Video Game Hookup (RF switch)
This hookup includes but is not limited to: Nintendo, Super Nintendo,
Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn.

- Cable from the wall outlet goes to the "in" on the cable
box.
- Cable from the "out" on the cable box goes to the "in" on
the RF switch.
- Cable from the "out" on the RF switch goes to the VHF/cable "in" on
the TV.
- The RF switch is connected to the game unit.
Video Game Hookup (Video/Audio Jacks)
This hookup includes but is not limited to: Nintendo 64, Sony PlayStation,
PS2, and Xbox.
- Cable from the wall outlet goes to the "in" on the cable
box.
- Cable from the "out" on the cable box goes to the "in" on
the VCR.
- Video jacks from the "out" on the game goes to the "in" on
the TV.
- Audio jacks from the "out" on the game goes to the "in" on
the TV.
Picture - in - Picture (PIP)
Rules
- Never use the "Out" or "Loop to Decoder" on
the TV.
- You don't need Audio/Video jacks with a 2 tuner TV. The coax cable
will carry the information to both inputs on the TV.
- To view box or VCR, you must select the proper input and make sure
the TV is on channel 3.
2 Tuner PIP, no Box (A)

Hookup
- Cable from the wall outlet goes to the splitter.
- Cable from the splitter goes to the "in" on the VCR.
- Cable from the splitter goes to the cable/Aux on the TV.
- Cable from the "out" on the VCR goes to the "in" on
the TV.
2 Tuner PIP, with Box (B)

Hookup
- Cable from the wall outlet goes to the splitter.
- Cable from the splitter goes to the "in" on the cable
box.
- Cable from the splitter goes to the cable/Aux on the TV.
- Cable from the "out" on the cable box to the "in" on
the VCR.
- Cable from the "out" on the VCR goes to the "in" on
the TV.
Hookup With a CD Player

- Cable from the splitter goes to the cable "in" on
the Music Choice Receiver.
- Audio jacks from audio "out" on the Music Choice Receiver,
go to the auxiliary/CD "in" on the stereo.
- Audio jacks from the audio "out" on the CD player go to
the audio "in" on the Music Choice Receiver.
Note: Place the stereo on Auxiliary or CD, to correspond with the audio
jack.
