Universal Lifeline Telephone Service (ULTS)
The Universal Lifeline Telephone Service plan
better known as the Lifeline program, assists low-income applicants by reducing
their monthly costs for one telephone line per household at the principle place
of residence.
This program saves qualified customers over $8.00 per month on their phone
bill.
You may be eligible for the Lifeline credit if:
- You are a participant in any of the
qualifying programs listed below
- You are not listed as a dependent on anyone
else's tax return (unless you are over 60 years of age)
- The Cox account receiving the Lifeline
telephone discount will be in your name.
You are eligible for Cox's Lifeline Credit
Program if you are a participant in any of the qualifying programs listed below,
or if you qualify the income based guidelines:
- Food
Stamp Program

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal
Public Housing (Section 8 Housing)
- Medicaid
- Low
Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- National
School Lunch Program (NSLP)
