Original Series
LA Verite is Cox 10’s newest original series. Verite tells real local stories through nontraditional documentary techniques, revealing ordinary people in everyday situations, rather than controlled settings such as formal interviews and staged lighting. The result is a candid realism that is seldom seen on local television. Each conceived and directed by Cox’ own in-house producers or selected independent producers throughout the city, each 5, 10 or 30-minute episode of LA Verite expresses the “truth” from a unique point of view. LA Verite Premieres Wednesdays at 8pm. Replays vary.
In 2005 Cox Communications brought a longtime local
favorite, Dr. Morgus, back to television after a hiatus of nearly 2 decades.
Morgus Presents first premiered in 1959, and ran on local television
through the 60s, 70s and early 80s. Hosted by the infamous Dr. Momus
Alexander Morgus, the show could be seen late-night Fridays during the
commercial breaks of Sci-Fi B movies, where the doctor would develop an
intriguing solution to a serious social problem. However, his brilliant
solutions seem to always go awry. Cox has re-mastered these old classics
into half hour shows and added new twists, like a chance for fans to Ask
Dr. Morgus by submitting their wacky scientific questions via email. A
weekly adventure in science and comedy, Morgus Presents has found new
life on Cox 10 and continues to be a local favorite for fans of all
generations. Morgus Presents Premieres Fridays at 10:30pm. Replays Sundays at 8:30pm.
